ADHD is often co-morbid with bipolar disorder. Strattera is highly problematic for people dealing with bipolar disorder. In my case, within a couple of weeks it sent me into ultra-ultra-rapid cycling, with extreme suicidality and loss of function worse than I'd ever experienced. Strattera brought about my only nervous breakdown ever, as the swings of mood took over a year to verrrry slooowwwwwwly slow down. Am still not as stable as before. Lost my job. Lost 13 friends. Went bankrupt. Had to move. It may work great for some folks, but not for bipolar folks!9/18/2012 at 04:17 PM

Regulating blood sugar by focusing on protein as required at each meal is very helpful for me.9/18/2012 at 04:10 PM

Research - and my experience - shows that 1/2 hour outside in an open, empty field yields about 2 good hours of calm concentration afterward. 9/18/2012 at 04:09 PM

Happens to me frequently, which is great when the boss wants a big project done ASAP - and pretty problematic the rest of the time. Some days are better than others, however. Control varies. I've learned not to even go in thrift stores or I'm likely to lock in like a heat-seeking missile looking through all the stuff, to break free only by force when the store closes 6 hours later. On bad evenings, I have gotten hyper-focused over 3 hours despite loudly arguing internally with my own brain to STOP NOW. THAT'S ENOUGH. SERIOUSLY, STOP! WE HAVE TO GO.... all to no avail. It's like obsessive compulsive behavior in its taking control of my behavior at such times. 9/18/2012 at 03:58 PM

Time blind. It's like a learning disability, is the way I try to explain it to people. Can't judge accurately how long an activity took (without practice and charting reality vs. my estimate). Especially if I was hyper-focused, I don't know if I've been at it 30 minutes or 5 hours. Also I can't estimate accurately how long an activity will take (without practice and charting), which makes me late frequently, even for work. I personally have trouble knowing how long ago something occurred - yesterday? last week? two months ago? 9/18/2012 at 03:49 PM
