Adderall is a brand-name medication that combines two drugs, dextroamphetamine and amphetamine. Adderall is a nervous system stimulant drug, which can temporarily improve physical and mental function. Adderall is often used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD or ADD) and narcolepsy, and with improper use has a high risk for abuse and addiction. Adderall can help people with ADHD better concentrate, sit quietly and still, and better control their actions. Adderall may make it difficult to fall asleep, so it is typically prescribed for use only in the morning. Children taking Adderall for ADHD may experience delayed growth or slow weight gain.

Adderall was amazing in the begining. I felt more focused and able to concentrate within 30 minutes of taking the first dose. I found the improvements were short lived and became less pronounced rather quickly even though I was on an extended release dose and after only a few months I suspect I will have to change meds at my next appt.10/25/2010 at 08:04 AM
