About Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS)

Chronic fatigue syndrome (or CFS) is a continuous and severe lack of energy. This tiredness is not treatable with rest or sleep. Chronic fatigue syndrome may also be called post-viral fatigue syndrome (or PVFS), as the condition is thought to be triggered by one or more viruses. Chronic fatigue syndrome is typically diagnosed by eliminating other possibilities such as immune disorders, infections, depression and endocrine disorders. Patients with chronic fatigue syndrome experience restricted activity, muscle aches, inability to feel refreshed and lymph node swelling. Chronic fatigue syndrome has no exclusive treatments but can be helped by a healthy diet, sleep management, antidepressant drugs, exercises and other therapies.
