Prednisone

Prednisone is a class of drugs commonly used to treat low corticosteroid levels. People with low corticosteroid levels include people with allergies, asthma, MS, lupus, arthritis, certain adrenal conditions and some types of cancer. Prednisone works as an immunosuppressant drug. It helps inflammatory diseases by reducing immune function which helps alleviate things like swelling, redness and immune attacks on healthy cells. Because prednisone works by suppressing the immune system, it leaves people more prone to other infections.
