Mass On Lower Right Lung

A mass on the lung is known as a tumor. This tumorous mass must be biopsied to determine if it is "benign" or "malignant". A benign tumor can be removed, is not cancerous, and does not spread. A malignant tumor is cancerous, grows aggressively, and can spread into the body's tissues ("metastasis"). A malignant tumor in the lung can spread quickly; it is very life-threatening, and difficult to treat. The most common areas that the lung cancer spreads to are the adrenal glands, liver, brain, and bone.
