Don't get this stuff on your fingers and then touch your eyes, it's very irritating to the eyes. Also, don't apply it more than once a day. Multiple applications per day don't make it any more effective, but they do increase the chance for it to be absorbed into your body. For me, my psoriasis plaques didn't clear up completely after a few weeks of use. When I stopped, the plaques came back worse than ever - that was about a year ago. They haven't went away since, and this is the longest period I've been without a remission. I can't attribute that to the betamethasone, but I have heard similar anecdotal reports. Bottom line - for me this was not a good treatment. Part of the efficacy it did have may have been due to the vehicle (the ointment) and not the betamethasone. When I tried ordinary vasoline months later I had similar results, minus the rebound effect with discontinuation. 2/23/2010 at 12:53 PM
