Trazodone

Trazodone is an antidepressant medication that helps to stabilize mood and promote a healthy balance of chemicals in the brain. Trazodone, also known by the brand names Desyrel, Desyrel Dividose, and Oleptro, is a serotonin modulating drug. Trazodone helps to control moods and maintain a healthy mental function by increasing levels of the chemical serotonin in the brain. Trazodone is used to manage the symptoms of depression, but cannot cure the disease. Trazodone may also be prescribed to manage insomnia and promote better sleep; manage the symptoms of schizophrenia; and help control anxiety. Trazodone may also be prescribed to stop uncontrolled twitches and movements that are caused by other medications.
