Coumadin is prescribed for me because I had a stroke due to a PH caused PFO (Patent Foramen Ovale, hole in the heart, which cannot be closed with surgery because it helps equalize my pressures.) It helps me be less afraid of another stroke. 5/11/2011 at 09:56 PM

Excess bleeding when you get the smallest of scratches or spots and the lack of alcohol are the downsides - but if it keeps me alive - so be it!7/2/2010 at 07:19 AM
