Home > Publications > Condition: Celiac Disease

Celiac Disease is an autoimmune disease that causes inflammation of the small intestines due to consumption of gluten, a protein found in wheat, barley and rye. It is possible for people with celiac disease to be asymptomatic, but many patients experience gastrointestinal disruption (e.g. diarrhea, abdominal pain and other symptoms related to irritable bowel syndrome), malabsorption, infertility, failure to thrive and more.
