About Lung Cancer

Lung cancer is a diagnosis of uncontrolled cell division in lung tissue. The unregulated cells take over healthy cells in the lungs and unless treated they will cause death. Groups of these cancerous cells are known as tumors and they are able to invade nearby organs and tissue. Early symptoms of lung cancer include shortness of breath, a persistent cough, repeated bronchitis, chest pain and a decline in general well being. Lung Cancer is one of the most common cancers in the world. Causes of Lung Cancer are not fully understood but smoking and exposure to air toxins is associated with higher rates of the disease. Treatments for Lung Cancer include transplants, chemotherapy and supplemental medications.

I'm told the cough will get worse over time. I've been prescribed a morphine medication but I haven't taken it yet because it makes one sleepy, and I don't want to spend my life sleeping.1/28/2012 at 08:32 PM
