Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic care is an alternative health discipline focusing on the musculoskeletal system, specifically the spine, and involving manual therapy. Chiropractic care is often used to help ease various types of pain. Chiropractic care or chiropractic therapy may be used to manage low back pain, fibromyalgia, headaches, stress, neck pain, and other types of chronic pain. Chiropractic care, also called spinal manipulation, is performed by a chiropractor and involves using the hands to move and manipulate a joint and improve function in the joint. A chiropractor may gently push, pull, or twist on the spine to adjust the bones. Chiropractic care may also involve heat therapy, ultrasound, or electrical stimulation to promote relaxation prior to adjusting the spine.

Helps a lot by keeping pressure off the nerves in my back. Sometimes works great for migraines.9/27/2011 at 12:30 PM

I am treated by a chiropractic specialist; he is an atlas orthoganist. This sort of chiropractor adjusts the atlas using a very specific tool. This is a very gentle manipulation but has quite outstanding results with migraines.9/16/2010 at 07:39 PM

I went to chiropractor for a long time. While the realignment exercises were fun and helped for the rest of the day, there was no benefit beyond the day. The flexibility and strength exercises done in the office only aggravated my pain and we stopped doing them. The massages were great, but again, only marginally helped me for the rest of the day. I did learn more about the diagnosis, anatomy, and what was supposed to fix my pain from the chiropractor than from the doctor. While he didn't fix my problem, I learned more from him so I could fix the problems on my own. The doctor provided little help in that regard. 8/11/2010 at 11:38 AM

I still see an osteopath who is brilliant! I have gentle manipulation and cranial osteopathy which helps to realign my joints and gives incredible relief.7/22/2010 at 05:49 PM
