Moisturizer

Moisturizer is a product that contains humectants, emollients, and other ingredients to hydrate dry skin. Moisturizer comes in different formulations, from lighter lotions to thick, heavy creams. Moisturizers are used to treat dry skin, which may be chapped, red, itchy, and even cracked from lack of moisture. Moisturizers can also help manage skin conditions such as eczema. Moisturizer works by helping the skin hold onto water and it creates a barrier on the skin to prevent more water from being lost. Moisturizer should be applied frequently all over the body to prevent and treat dry skin, eczema, and other skin problems.

I use Eucerin lotion daily and it really helps with the flaking and dryness. 6/25/2010 at 12:04 PM

This is the best lotion that I've found for plaque psoriasis. It's not a cure - but it lessens the symptoms by keeping the skin moisturized, especially the flaking and scaling. It works better the more often you use it (3 times a day is ideal). Ointments (like vasoline) are even more effective moisturizers but they're greasy and rub off onto things, whereas Gold Bond gets absorbed into the skin and doesn't rub off. 2/23/2010 at 12:56 PM
